Russell Dekker is Managing Director of Summit Communications. Previously he was Chief Publishing Officer and co-owner of Marcel Dekker, Inc., an international scientific, technical, and medical (STM) publisher. In 2003, Marcel Dekker, Inc. signed an agreement to sell its publishing assets to the Taylor & Francis Group, plc. The sale was completed in January 2004. During Russell’s 15 years with Dekker, he grew the company throughout its publishing activities, including its book, journal, and encyclopedia programs. The creation of Summit Communications is intended to utilize Russell’s publishing expertise and scientific networks within the growing space of corporate marketing communications. Russell received the BA degree from Hobart College and the MA degree from New York University.
David Dekker is Executive Director of Summit Communications. Previously he was Chief Operating Officer and co-owner of Marcel Dekker, Inc. David was the driving force in positioning Marcel Dekker, Inc. as a technology leader, overseeing all online product development. In 1995, David founded and is Managing Principle of CrossRoads Media, LLC, an investment company specializing in publishing services. Recent holdings have included Achorn Graphic Services, Inc. and Cat Trail Consulting. David received the BS degree from the University of Rhode Island, the MBA degree from the Executive Education program at Pace University, and participated in the “Mergers and Acquisitions” Executive Program at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business.
